Workplace Menopause & Wellbeing

Menopause can affect far more than physical health.

Changes in sleep, concentration, memory, mood, anxiety, energy and confidence can all influence how someone feels and functions at work.

Yet menopause can still feel difficult to talk about in the workplace. I deliver practical, engaging menopause awareness and workplace wellbeing sessions that help organisations understand the transition, recognise how symptoms may show up at work, and create an environment where people feel able to ask for support. With more than 20 years' experience working in corporate environments, and my own lived experience of hormonal health challenges and the menopause transition. The sessions are educational and designed to support workplace awareness and wellbeing; they do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.

Menopause is relevant to everyone

Menopause is a natural life transition, but there is no single menopause experience. Some people experience relatively few symptoms, while for others changes in sleep, hot flushes, anxiety, brain fog, fatigue, joint discomfort or confidence can significantly affect everyday life.

At work, this might look like struggling to find a word in a meeting, needing more time to review complex information, feeling exhausted after disrupted sleep, becoming anxious before a presentation, or finding a previously manageable workload more difficult.

Understanding what may be happening - and feeling able to talk about it - can make an important difference.

Workplace menopause sessions

All-Colleague Menopause Masterclass

An accessible and inclusive introduction to menopause, helping colleagues understand the transition and the ways it may affect day-to-day wellbeing and working life. Topics can include common symptoms, workplace impact, evidence-informed nutrition and lifestyle considerations, movement, sleep, stress management and appropriate signposting for further support. Further deep-dive sessions can include gut and digestive health, weight management & metabolism, sleep, bone health, chronic pain, detoxification and inflammation

Menopause Awareness for Managers

Designed to help managers feel more confident having sensitive conversations. The session explores how symptoms may affect someone at work, listening without assumptions, workplace support, reasonable adjustments, confidentiality, signposting and the importance of continuing the conversation. It also considers how menopause can influence relationships at home and at work, helping people understand changing needs, communicate openly and respond with empathy. With greater knowledge and awareness, managers can offer informed, sensitive support while respecting individual experiences and boundaries.

Menopause Cafe / Informal Wellbeing Session

A relaxed opportunity for colleagues to come together, share experiences and talk openly about menopause in a supportive environment. I organise and facilitate these sessions, working with your organisation to plan the format and create a welcoming space. I guide the conversation sensitively, encourage respectful listening and ensure everyone can participate at their own comfort level, without pressure to share personal experiences. These sessions complement more formal education and help normalise menopause conversations across the workplace.

A whole-person approach

Small, sustainable changes matter.

My sessions begin with a clear overview of the menopause years, explaining perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause, the hormonal changes involved and how experiences can vary. They go beyond simply listing symptoms, exploring why they may occur and how changing hormone signalling interacts with sleep, stress responses, brain function and metabolism. I translate this science into accessible, evidence-informed nutrition and lifestyle information, including food, movement, sleep, stress and recovery, while recognising that everyone’s health history, symptoms and circumstances are different.

Rather than adding another long list of things people 'should' be doing, I focus on practical wellbeing ideas that can fit into busy working lives. This might include building a balanced breakfast, balancing blood sugars and cortisol levels, taking a short movement break, considering sleep routines, or starting a conversation with someone at work. These are general educational strategies rather than individual medical advice.

Creating a menopause-friendly workplace

A supportive workplace does not require managers to have all the answers. It starts with awareness, empathy and a willingness to listen

About Jane

I'm Jane Condliffe, DipION, MBANT, CNHC, a Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Health Coach with a particular professional interest in women's health, healthy ageing and workplace wellbeing.

My professional training, corporate background and personal experience of navigating the menopause transition at work without the support I needed have shaped my practical and compassionate approach to menopause education. Having experienced difficult PMS for many years, I approached menopause with apprehension.

My training, personal research and lived experience have helped me understand both the science and how challenging this transition can feel. I’ve also learned what helps me support my mind and body, recognise when I need help and feel less alone. My aim is to make the information clear and useful, improve understanding, encourage supportive workplace conversations and share realistic nutrition and wellbeing strategies within my professional scope.
